I am delighted to be representing HF Holidays on their specialist activity holidays in Alnmouth, Northumberland. Visit HF Holidays for more information. Their story is a really interesting one and it begins with one man, Thomas Arthur Leonard OBE – hailed as the Father of the Open-Air Movement in this country. A country pastor turned social innovator, he founded the Co-operative Holiday Association in 1893 before establishing the Holiday Fellowship (HF Holidays) in 1913.
His vision was clear: holidays should not be about artificial recreation, but about celebrating the natural beauty of the outdoors – an experience made richer when shared with others.
Over 112 years on, we carry his legacy forward with a mission that feels just as relevant today as it did then. You can read more about the HF story here.
